3rd April 2009: Rebels Go Live!

At a launch tonight down Leeside, the Cork Co. Board successfully went live with their very own website dedicated to Pitch & Putt. The Co. Board stated 'Our intention is to ensure that all players in Cork can be kept up to date with what is happening in and around the Cork area'. A number of well known Cork Pitch & Putt players were in attendance, including Irish Number One ranked gents player and current National Matchplay champion Ray Murphy and current National Strokeplay champion Frank Dineen. Frank, also the captain of the National Inter-County champions Cork, gladly spoke on behalf of all the Cork players at the launch. Further speeches were given by President of the PPUI, Frank Smith, and FIPPA Ass. General Secretary, John Manning, who were also present at the historic launch.

The Cork Co. Board have added to the recent list of clubs and county boards that have taken the initiative of developing/upgrading their very own websites, including Dublin, Tipperary, Meath, Westmeath and our own Offaly site. It is another encouraging action taken by a regional county board in the efforts of promoting the fantastic game of Pitch & Putt, which has been down spoken in recent times as a dying sport. But with the continued efforts and initiative of clubs and county boards now aiding the national governing body, PPUI, we can safely say that our game truely has a future. However, as the saying goes 'Much Work Done but More To Do' we need to continue this great work to ensure the games future!!

Best wishes to all the clubs/county boards who have recently gone live!! View them here or go to our links section » for full list:
