Offaly Players Qualify for 2011 Irish Open
Congratulaions to our six players who travelled to St. Bridget's Pitch & Putt Club on Saturday, March 19th, and who all qualified respectively for the forthcoming Irish Open in Killarney in April. Well done to William Buckley Jnr. who topped the scoring on the day with a 36 hole aggregate of 15 under par. He will be joined at the Open by Larry Maher Jnr. (Erry), Billy Buckley Snr. (Erry), Jimmy Scanlon (Erry), Seanie Buckley (Erry) and Mick Hogan (Tullamore). An automatic spot was also secured by Tracey McGrath (Erry).

Final Offaly Club Alliance Results
The final stage of the Club Alliance took place in Tullamore Pitch & Putt Club on Sunday March 20th after which all the prizes from each stage were presented to the winners. The winners from the final Alliance were as follows:

36 Mixed Gross - Joe Egan (Erry) & D. Byrne (Tullamore) 94

The winner of this week's Lotto Bonus Ball was number 26, Tullamore's Joe Gorman.

Dates for your Diary:
The Pitch & Putt season in the midlands officially tees-off this coming weekend with the Jack McCormack Memorial Westmeath Classic on Sunday March 27th at Kilbeggan Pitch & Putt Club (Play commences at 8a.m. and last card is at 2.30p.m.). This event is quickly followed by our own prestigious Offaly Co. Board Scratch Cup on Sunday April 3rd which is hosted by Tullamore Pitch & Putt Club. The title was won last year by Erry's William Buckley in which was a record breaking attendance of over 120 players for the event. Play commences at 9a.m. and the last card is at 1.30p.m. with the play-off scheduled for 5p.m. All registered PPUI members are very welcome!
