The competition between to the rival clubs is now in its third year and what a competition it has become with club trials having to be played to decide their respective team of 12. The final day singles of the competition was due to be played on Sunday November 28th however with the adverse weather conditions that plagued the country through November and December the final only went ahead on Sunday January 2nd at Erry. The Erry team held a vital lead of 12.5 to 7.5 going into the singles .

Erry claimed back the Ryder Cup in fine style with a 7.5 to 4.5 win in the singles for an overall score of 20 points to 12 points. Both teams complimented their respective counterparts on the spirit in which all the games were played and thanked both course grounds men for their hard work in having the courses in great order each weekend. A special thanks to the organizing committee of William Buckley and Mick Hogan who have driven the competition from strength to strength. Attention now focuses on the 2011 pitch and putt calendar but there is no doubt that thoughts of the next Ryder Cup are already in everyone's minds as Tullamore will be hoping to halt Erry's attempt at consecutive title! Thanks to all the players and supporters who took part over the 5 weeks and to Dolan's Pub for holding the presentation which was catered by John Meehan.
